ematic My youngest daughter, Jordan is always looking up to her big sister. Jordan loves Lily. She is trying to follow in her big sister’s footsteps. No matter what toy that Lily is playing with, Jordan wants to play with it. Lily has her own learning tablet and Jordan is always fascinated as she watches her sister play on it. They do share from time to time, but I can tell Jordan wants some cool toys of her own and since I recently discovered how to restrict website access, I think she deserves to have one.

Recently I picked up the Ematic new FunTab Mini 2. It is tablet that is perfect for her little hands. It runs off the Android platform and comes preloaded with over 50 apps including fun games such as Angry Birds, Where’s My Water?, Cut The Rope, Skitch, School Assistant, Fruit Ninja.

Jordan is a big fan of Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja and now she has her very own tablet to play them on. My family and I do a bit of traveling and this is a great toy that is not only keeping her entertained, but it is also a fun learning tool as well.

My wife and I can check how well she is doing with the Zoodles’ parent dashboard to keep track of her progress and online usage.  I am able to take a peek at her latest artwork or check out any improvement in any subject.  I can even view video messages and other activities.

Unfortunately she has a knack for always dropping a toy while I am driving and never when I am at red light. In the past I would hear in the backseat, “Daddy I dropped my toy. Can you get it for me?”

So I was very happy to see that the FunTab has rubber sides that can help her grasp onto the tablet so she doesn’t keep dropping it.

The FunTab Mini 2 has interactive story books, video mail, and an art studio. The interactive story books allow parents or relatives to record a special reading for your child.  The video mail feature allows invited family members to send short video messages to your child who can then respond by recording their own message using the tablet’s built-in camera.  It’s a great way to bring the family together, which is huge for me since my family lives in other states.

The FunTab Mini 2 has a 4.3″ 480×272 capacitive multi-touch screen, a 1.2GHz Processor with dedicated GPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a MicroSD Card slot allows you to add up to an additional 32GB of storage. There is a built-in Wi-Fi, a front and back camera, and it runs off a rechargeable Lithium polymer battery that has up to 5.5 hours of battery life.

The FunTab Mini 2 is just the right amount of tech for my youngest who is three years old. She gets to be like her big sis, but everything with this tablet is just the right size and speed. The Mini 2 is not as expensive as a smartphone or tablet and at $69.99 was a great value and a no brainer to pick up.
