ffl banner2 Next week can’t come fast enough. Thursday we get to celebrate as the NFL season kicks off. The Baltimore Ravens will be taking on the Denver Broncos in a rematch of last season’s crazy dramatic double-overtime playoff game.

Here at Life of Dad we are getting ready for our 24 team, 2 conference fantasy football league. We have great prizes which reminds me that I want to give a big shout out to Junk Food Clothing. They are hooking us up with weekly prizes and a grand prize.

So as we are approaching our league’s draft day, I thought I might pass on a few helpful hints. Whether you are playing in our league or you are getting ready for your own league here are some things you might consider when you draft players.  JunkFood_logo_new_w300

TIP #1: Don’t draft a New England Patriots tight end in the first or second round. Their track record these past few months hasn’t been good.

TIP #2: Do some prep, but don’t spend a bunch of time preparing for the draft. You are not studying for the bar exam….have fun.

TIP #3: If you want to be successful in your league under any circumstances don’t draft Tim Tebow. (I am talking to you Tom Riles!)

TIP #4: Don’t cheat. If you read my interview with ESPN’s Matthew Berry here at Life of Dad you know cheaters never win.

TIP # 5: Don’t draft a defense until at least after the sixth round. Don’t be that guy that starts the entire league to breakout into a panic and feel the need to draft a defense.

So there you go. Good luck to all and to all a good draft!
