Art and CraftspicThis week for our Art and Crafts segment here at Life of Dad we are making some sun catchers out of plastic beads. My daughters have a ton of these beads from multiple craft kits. They seem to turn up under the couch, in drawers, and are scattered in craft bins. Since we had an abundance of these craft beads we decided to make some sun catchers.

Materials Needed:

Plastic beads

Round metal cake pan

Drill

String

Directions:

First preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Next put the beads into the cake pan. Once your pan is filled with beads, bake it in the oven for about 35 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and set it on a cooling rack. After a couple of minutes you will begin to hear popping noises as the plastic cools and separates from the pan. Once the sun catcher is cooled down flip the pan over and remove the sun catcher. Drill a small hole to thread the string through. Now you can hang them up anywhere in your home.
