Art and Craftspic This week for our Art and Crafts segment here at Life of Dad we continue with our Valentine’s Day theme. We are creating a candy necklace. In our case we bought some Froot Loops to use instead of candy for this craft. This is an easy craft to do with your toddler. They will have fun munching on some of the craft materials while working on their project. Plus it helps work on their motor skills.

Materials Needed:

Candy with a hole in the middle or cereal like Froot LoopsDSC00141

String

Scissors

Directions:

Measure the correct amount of string for each child to make sure their necklace can go over their head. After you measure the right amount of string cut the desired amount. Place the candy or cereal in a bowl and have your child start adding the candy to string.

Once your child feels that their Valentine’s Day necklace has enough candy on it or they ate the rest of the materials, tie the string together to make a necklace. Now you have a great holiday themed necklace your kids will enjoy.

(Word of advice: Don’t leave the necklace out on the counter where your new cats can eat it overnight. Your daughter won’t be too happy when she wakes up the next day and finds out what happened to her necklace.)
