Art and CraftspicThis week for our Art and Crafts segment here at Life of Dad we are celebrating the Olympics. We are going to make gold medals. My kids like to watch a few of the Olympic events like figure skating. So I thought it would be a good idea to make some gold medals with them.

Materials Needed:

Gold foam

Hole punch/Tape

Scissors

Markers/Crayons

Glue

Ribbon

Directions:

Draw an outline of a circle on the gold foam paper. Cut out the circle.  Use the hole punch to create a small hole at the top of the gold circle. Cut a piece of ribbon and put the ribbon through the hole in the medal. (If you don’t have a hole punch just tape the pieces of ribbon to the gold medal.) Tie the two pieces of ribbon together. Make sure there is enough room for your child to put the ribbon over their head.

Let your child decorate the medal to their liking. Once finished you can have your own medal ceremony with your kids!
