Art and CraftspicThis week for our Art and Crafts segment here at Life of Dad we start to look to St. Patrick’s Day. This is our first craft for this holiday. We are going to make Leprechaun hats.  If your kid has a birthday on or around March 17th this would be a cool party favor. Or if you are going to any parades these hats will come in handy.

Materials Needed:

Construction paper preferably in the colors of green, black, and yellow

Green poster board

Glue

Scissors

Tape

Directions:

Cut a head band out of the green construction paper that is slightly larger than the child’s head. Next make a hat shape out of the construction paper. Then cut a black strip of construction paper. Attach it to the hat above the brim and trim the edges to align with the slant of the hat.paper-leprechaun-hat

Get a yellow square that is a bit bigger than the black strip.  Cut the center out of the yellow paper in there form of a square and glue it on the middle of the black strip. Tape the hat to the headband. Lastly attach the head band so that it fits around the child’s head.

Now you got a hat perfect for your lil’ Leprechaun.
