Art and Craftspic This week for our Art and Crafts segment here at Life of Dad we are dinosaur fossils. I got this idea from the most recent time I helped out at my daughter’s school. We were learning about the letter D and the craft for the day was making a dinosaur fossil. My daughter loved making it at school so we tried this craft at our house.

Materials Needed:

Flour

Salt (1 cup)

Water (1 cup)

Plastic dinosaurs

Directions:

Mix the flour and salt together in a large container. Gradually add water, stirring as you go, until you have a dough-like consistency. Don’t get the dough too wet, so you may not need all the water. Form the dough into a ball, dust it with flour, and knead it for at least five minutes. The more you knead it, the smoother it will be. If your dough gets too sticky add more flour to the dough. Roll your dough out to about 1/2″ to 1/4″ thick. Cut circles out using a cookie cutter. Press your dinosaurs into the dough and then carefully remove. Bake them at 200 F for 2-3 hours. Now your children have a new dinosaur fossil to display in their room. dino
