Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, “The Book of Life” encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.

The film stars Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Danny Trejo, Ron Perlman, Christian Applegate, Ice Cube, Diego Luna, Ana de la Reguera.

I had the great pleasure of talking with Jorge Gutierrez today about the film and fatherhood. The complete interview will be published in February as part of the “My Life of Dad” series. So look out for that because you will see how much love and thought Jorge put into this film.

One of the things that I asked Jorge was if he thought about making sure that this film was suitable for kids and that parents would want to take their children to see it. As a father of a five year old son he told me that he definitely had that in mind while making this film. He wanted to create a story that would encourage kids to follow their heart as well as thinking about their own family.

Another thing I found out was that it was the movie “Pinocchio” that had inspired him to want to get into the film industry. When watching “The Book of Life” you can see the influence that “Pinocchio” had on him. If you are looking for a family friendly and entertaining movie I would strongly suggest that you pick up “The Book of Life.” Click here to purchase the film.
