Disney and Pixar are back at it again with their new film “Planes” that is coming to theaters August 9th. With the success of the “Cars” franchise, Disney is taking the action to the skies with this new animated film. The main plot finds Dusty, who is a crop-dusting plane that dreams of competing in a famous aerial race. There is one issue that stands in his way. His is afraid of heights. Hopefully with the help of his mentor Skipper and his friends, Dusty will compete in the race.
To go along with “Planes” there are some very cool toys that your kids will love to play with after seeing the film. One of these neat toys is the “Planes” Pilot Pal Dusty Remote Control Plane from Mattel. My daughters and I enjoyed playing with this toy for many reasons.
First and foremost my daughters get a kick out of playing with remote controlled toys. They first watch me “test” it out and show them the controls and how it works. After that they grab the remote and have fun. With Dusty, Mattel allows you to control the plane by using wing-shaped controllers on their own hands. Your child just sets the plane on the ground and gets to move Dusty by pressing a button and moving from side to side.
To steer the plane left or right you physically move to the left of the right to direct Dusty where you want him to go. So as your child moves so does Dusty. It is a really cool way to help teach your kids their right from their left. My youngest who is three was saying “Left” and “Right” over and over again and got the hang of it in no time. 
To move the plane just push the button and the propeller of the plane starts spinning and the plane moves forward. Like I said before your child can tilt the wings and control its movement through mimicry. There are even sounds and phrases from the film that will add to your kid’s enjoyment.
I like this toy because not only is it fun, but it makes your kid move around and be active while playing with the plane. This is definitely an interactive toy that will be tough to put down even if you are playing with it.
