We dads and moms like to talk about and dream about the things we hope our children do and accomplish in life but what about the other side of the coin? What is something you absolutely do not want your child to do? Here’s just some of what the real dads and moms of the Life of Dad Facebook community said when we asked them what they do not want their kid to do.

Albert Montejano: I don’t want my kids to grow up thinking life is all about materialistic things.

Tasha Hall: Grow up and get into the local music scene like I did. I want her to have a normal group of friends. My life would have been so much easier if I would have just been normal and not had wild hair and made bad grades because it was “cool”.

Jacob Nixon: Make that one noise that sounds like Mariah Carey fighting over sardines with a dolphin. Yeah, that’d be awesome if he’d stop making that noise. [editor’s note: we’re not even sure what this means, to be honest, but it is hilarious.]

Aaron Lingwood: I want my children to be able to make their own choices about faith and religion and not have it forced down their throat like a lot of children have done to them if they head in the ‘wrong’ direction I’ll give them a nudge in the right but they will make their own choices in life and religion that no one will force upon them.

Richard Jackson: I wouldn’t want her to hurt herself or anyone else.

Christopher Stevenson: I know it seems cliche, but drugs. I’ve seen too many good people get pulled down fast and even with the best of intentions can’t get back out.

Christopher Ramos: I don’t want him to think that because he is growing up in two households that his mother and I love him any less.

Ryan Unger: I don’t want my son to grow up blaming me for the fact that his mother and I are not together. I tried buddy.

Shaun Nurse: Get involved in criminal activities. Hopefully she learns from my mistakes as a teenager.

Alex Negron: Allow the opinions of others to dictate their life choices.

Shell Marie: I don’t ever want my daughter to be a bully.

Eric Nicholas: Drugs, play American football.

Mätt Hïcks: Face tattoos.

Ian Spence: Over eat with boredom.
