DUDE KNOCKED UP is my attempt to live the life of a pregnant woman until our daughter arrives in December. Why? Because I want to prove to men worldwide how difficult it is on their women to build a baby.
Women are restricted with the exercises they can do during pregnancy, so I decided to tackle one yesterday. It is called, “the angry cat.”
During pregnancy, regular crunches are a no-no, so “the angry cat” (aka the pelvic tilt) is an ab exercise that preggers can do. Since I’m living with pregnancy restrictions until Baby Tommy arrives, I figured I need to start an ab workout at some point, and I gave it a shot yesterday.
With the goal of easing back pain, and strengthening ab muscles, I got down on all fours, like BabyCenter.com told me to.
My arms were shoulder-width apart, and my knees were hip-width apart, as my elbows stayed slightly bent. As I breathed in, I tightened my abdominal muscles, and attempted to tuck my buttocks under and round my back.
This is where I ran into two issues:
1) I didn’t know what tucking my buttocks under means
2) I barely have a buttocks to tuck.
The final step is to relax back to neutral position when breathing out.
There I was on all fours, breathing, and feeling tightness in my abs, but not sure if I was doing it correctly. It was awkward, and I felt slightly violated.
Then I realized that this is what women go through during pregnancy. Experiencing something different every day, and having to alter their life drastically because they are carrying a baby. I booked an appointment with https://www.arrowheadclinic.com/ to treat the back pain I’m experiencing during pregnancy.
Most nights I’ll have a beer or two during dinner, but last night, I refrained. This led to me feeling more energetic, and I went to the gym for a quick workout after dinner. It felt great.
Maybe this whole pregnancy diet is a good idea, and I’ll get in great shape before our baby boy arrives in December, as as we all know, exercise won’t be much of an option the months after a newborn!
Shall I continue on this quest? I want a cup of coffee right now, but I’m holding off, because a pregnant woman would.
