Spring is here and winter is no longer. Kids passing colds to one another should be ending soon. My two daughters have had their share of colds and flus this winter, but the good part is that usually their colds don’t last that long. That is not the case for Ariel in our house. Both of my daughters love this one book called Disney’s Pretty Princess. This book comes with little Disney Princesses dolls including Ariel and a plastic mat with a castle scene painted on it.
For some reason when my daughters are playing with them I see all the dolls on the mat except for Ariel. She is lying on a pillow with a blanket. I finally asked my daughters about Ariel after a few times I witnessed this phenomenon. When I asked them why Ariel is not with the othe
r princesses they tell me she is sick. So I play along with them and say that is seems she is always sick.
They tell me that she is running a fever and has a stomach bug. Last December my oldest daughter Lily had a stomach bug and it seems that the time stuck with her. Both Lily and Jordan take care of Ariel and tell me that she needs her rest if I try and move her to play with the other princesses.
There are even times where one of my daughters takes the little Ariel figure to the garbage so she can throw up. I don’t know how long Ariel has been sick, but it seems like she has been sick for over a month. I the fact that my daughters have a great imagination.
With that said I keep fueling their imagination by asking if Ariel is sick because she used to be a mermaid and now a human. I ask my daughters if she needs more time in the sea since she spent most of her life in the water. They tell me that she just needs rest and cough medicine. They both add that Ariel will get better soon as long as she gets some rest.
Hopefully that is true since it seems like every time my girls are playing with those figures Ariel is either resting or going to the garbage. I might have to email King Triton soon if this stomach bug continues to linger.
