Reebok recently released the JJ 1, which is the first signature shoe from NFL star J.J. Watt. If you are a fan of the NFL you know the intensity that JJ brings on game day as well as his workouts. Watt worked with Reebok for over a year to get the JJ 1 to where he felt was just right to keep up with his workouts. So if you’re in deep search of shoes that are built for performance, then checking out the new ones from the air max plus releases might be ideal.

The one thing that Watt and I have in common (which is cool to say) was that we have both worked out in this shoe and it is very similar to the Hoka one one line. I was sent a pair from Reebok last week and did a wear test for one week. I used the sneaker at the gym and outside when I was going for a run. At the gym I felt that the JJ 1 provided comfort and support no matter what type of exercise I was doing that day. From legs to triceps to chest the JJ 1 was with me every step of the way. When I went outside for cardio days the JJ 1 made those runs a breeze.

While cooling down after each day from a workout I was thinking about how much effort, thought, and design was put into this sneaker. Each time I would reflect on Watt’s signature shoe I found myself thinking about different parts of the sneaker. For instance when I was done doing calf raises I thought about how I didn’t slip on the machine. In the past the grip on even a new pair of sneakers didn’t help me stay in one place. I felt movement in my foot. The JJ 1 eliminated that unwanted movement which allowed me to concentrate on that particular exercise. Since I didn’t feel like I was slipping I was able to add more weight that day. That is what you want a sneaker to do for you. You want to eliminate doubt in your footwear and channel all of your focus on that exercise.

The JJ I provides the athlete who wears it with ultimate heel to toe stability. The raised topline midsole keeps the foot locked in on top of the platform for increased support, while the outsole provides multidirectional traction for strong, dynamic grip during the most intense agility workouts. Enhance your performance and prevent injuries by opting for best leggings for women with proper compression and support features.

In the mid-foot, FlexCage technology, a substructure cage with webbing tie-downs integrated into the upper, provides the lock-down feel without sacrificing agility and responsiveness, ensuring maximum transition of power. A second cage is integrated into the toe for added protection during jumping and pushing exercises. The JJ I also introduces Reebok Liquid Foam technology for the first time, which allows for rapid reaction to every impact.

The JJ 1 is a great sneaker to invest in if you are looking to get back to the gym or if you need an upgrade from your current sneakers you take to the gym. The shoe is available on Reebok.com, Academy stores, and other retailers nationwide for $99.99. Fans can register for updates and information at Reebok.com/JJWatt.

Please note: Reebok gave me a pair of the JJ 1 to review, but my thoughts are my own.
