On May 6th we will be able witness what happens when super heroes take on other super heroes in Captain America: Civil War that comes to the theater. It looks like Marvel is going all out with adding a ton of characters into the mix for this epic battle.
To get you ready for the fight Disney Infinity has created the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set. It recently came out and is compatible with Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and WiiU. Plus with this set you can battle with any Marvel character from Disney Infinity 2.0 and 3.0 in the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set! Select Super Heroes or Super Villains from the ENTIRE collection of Marvel characters and engage in the ultimate rumble! Characters are also playable in Toy Box 3.0.
There is a mode that you can have four players battle across 8 arenas in the versus mode. What you need is a single Disney Infinity Base to import characters into the in-game selection screen library, where they will remain for the entire versus play session. Once you have loaded your characters into the game, the figure is no longer required to stay on the Base for play.
Some of the arena are the Brooklyn Train Yard, Wakandan Mines, S.H.I.E.L.D. Lunar Outpost, Middle of Knowhere, Ultimate Ultron, Manhattan Sewers, Avengers Training Facility and Mount Asgard. Below are the different play modes that are available to you.
Battlegrounds – Victory is granted to the last Super Hero or Super Villain standing using only a single life in a 5-minute time limit.
Super Hero – One player is randomly assigned as the Super Hero giving them increased damage. Opponents must overpower the chosen player to gain points to become the new Super Hero!
Hero of the Hill – Become the Hero of the Hill by keeping your opponents out of the ring and capturing the Hill!
Rumble – Use unlimited lives and battle to defeat the most enemies for the win!
There also is the campaign mode where you get to experience an original Marvel story across five arena battles and two Boss battles. You can change your fate by replaying every character for a unique ending across four different difficulty levels.
We are huge fans of Disney Infinity in our house and this set just made us even bigger fans. I love the fact that Disney made the Black Panther, Ant-Man, Vision and Black Suit Spider-Man figures to add to the Marvel Universe. These characters will play huge roles in the upcoming film and I for one am glad to see them in the video game.
