It’s been a long while since I’ve been away somewhere without my kids. A long while. 3,508 days to be exact. That’s 5,051,520 minutes (roughly 303,091,200 seconds). So yeah, it’s been a long time. That’s the amount of days, minutes and even seconds it’s been since my daughter was born over nine years ago – the moment that “time” for me stopped being a thing. That’s not to say that I haven’t been away from them completely. I’ve had work trips, weddings to go to and family to visit. But I haven’t planned or even thought about planning a moment away to do something rad for myself since my daughter was born. Mainly because I love being with the kids. Like all kids, they are hilarious and exhausting and loving and infuriating and manage to keep each day interesting in ridiculous ways. So when Capital One invited me to spend a few days in Las Vegas for some unforgettable experiences, I suddenly realized that this would be the perfect time to get away, give myself a short break and come back with more than just the experience to show for it.

The teams from parhaat pikakasino bonukset, GM and Capital One united for more than just the card they offer (more on that in a second). They teamed up to give a number of their customers an incredible couple of days – in Las Vegas. The best news, I was going to be a part of this incredible opportunity, which was fantastic. Fantastic because I’d be in Las Vegas with full certainty that I would actually be able to “share” what happened to me in Las Vegas, enjoy an incredible dinner with cardmembers and executives from GM and Capital One, and then cap the trip off by racing Corvettes on a track in the desert. My extensive go-kart expertise was finally going to come in handy!

Not only was I going to be able to do these things, but I would be leaving Las Vegas with a new outlook on ways that I can help my family save money, and then invest that money in a new GM vehicle. Being there with a large group of cardmembers, more than a few of them shared their stories about how impactful the BuyPower Card from Capital One has been for them. Hearing the facts and figures and percentages is all well and good when it’s on paper, but hearing one card member tell me that he’s been able to purchase two new cars with the Earnings he generated and another telling me that he was able to put a significant down payment on a new car for his college-bound daughter really drove it home. This was reality, not just an actor on TV telling me about Earnings. That said; let me hit you with some facts, figures and percentages!

For starters, the BuyPower Card gives you 5% back in Earnings on the first $5,000 you spend every year which is pretty incredible. After you spend that first $5,000, you still earn 2% unlimited Earnings on every purchase until the year renews- and then it’s back to that 5%! The Earnings you accumulate don’t expire. Pretty rad. Best of all though, you can easily use those Earnings to help toward the purchase or lease of a new GM vehicle you want or need. You would just find the car and price that’s best for your family budget, then redeem your Earnings and knock the price down based on how many you have. Until this trip, I never really took the time to realize the potential savings I could be making for my family simply by spending like I normally would. At the moment, we don’t totally need to buy a new car (or lease one, which is also part of the program), but soon enough we will and this is an almost too simple way to help save for our future vehicle and drive the cost of that down for our family. I would have been thinking about some sort of family vehicle that could fit my whole clan and the gear we haul, but now that I spent time on the track with a Corvette, I might have to reconsider. I’ll just assume for now that Chevy also makes the most spectacularly high powered minivans out there.

These few days turned out to be great on so many levels. Not only did I make new friends like Jeff from Good Financial Cents  [GoodFinancialCents.com] who I’ll be relying on from now on for good tips on how I should save, or the cardholders who were given this unforgettable experience, but I was able to leave with some valuable learnings for my family.

This trip did more than re-charge my parenting batteries by giving me some time to myself; it also fortified me with knowledge that can benefit the whole family and our bank account. I left there ready and anxious to spend more time with my kids, and to spend less money on my future Supercharged Racing Corvette Minivan. (Totally a thing, right??…….. right?)
