If you are fan of any team that Martellus Bennett has been on or had him on your fantasy team you know that Martellus is an All-Pro tight end. Recently he signed with the New England Patriots and is gearing up for another season in the NFL. Yet there is so much more to Martellus than just football.
I had the great pleasure of chatting with Martellus about fatherhood, his new children’s book called Hey A.J. It’s Saturday, sneakers, and football. While doing research for my interview with him I discovered the many talents that Martellus brings into this world. He is fantastic artist, author, athlete, and self-proclaimed visionary architect, which is a brilliant title to have.
During my interview with Martellus I wanted to know about his inspiration for his latest book. It is based on his daughter He said, “A.J. is able to make the best out each situation that she is in because of her imagination. So everything is larger than life to her. She sees the world in a totally different way than we do.”
That is a theme that we can all relate to when we look back on our childhood. This book is a great conversation starter with your kids on how they see the world. You can even tell them your stories and dreams when you were their age. The book is very bright and colorful just like a child’s imagination. Bennett brilliantly captured that with Hey A.J.
Bennett’s first books explores A.J.’s imagination as she finds another world that is strangely right downstairs in her kitchen. So strange there’s already a feast, breakfast being served by creatures and beasts. Oh! What is going in this kitchen of hers? Pancakes! Waffles! Scrambled eggs! And a Jamaican Giraffe? Breakfast will never be the same. Ever!
