INTRODUCING YOU TO BANDS YOU MIGHT  NOT KNOW, BUT TOTALLY SHOULD.

Ogre You Asshole

There’s nothing like ending your week with a nice blast of Japanese Indie Rock. Especially when the band has a name as phenomenal as Ogre You Asshole. Now, I’ve never seen it written with a comma suggesting they are calling the Ogre an Asshole so I’ll have to assume that one is to “Ogre” an Asshole, as a verb. What that means exactly is a mystery, though incredibly intriguing. The band, formed in Nagano, Japan has heavy influences from bands like Nirvana, Joy Division, Fugazi,  The Talking Heads and Modest Mouse. The band was actually named by Modest Mouse’s bassist Eric Judy, and all members attribute at least some of their success to its uniqueness. They perform tight melodic tunes that can span from dreamy synth to cheerful pop to hammered out, beat-driven rock. You’ll dig them, even if you won’t understand them.
