Today we say a sad goodbye to Gene Wilder, star of classic movies such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. He passed away in his home from complications due to Alzheimers Disease. He was 83 years old.

While he’ll always be best remembered for his rolls on screen, he also contributed powerfully off screen, promoting cancer awareness and treatments. He spent the remaining years of his life away from movies, choosing to write instead.

He will be missed.
