It’s not that we don’t always know it, but when we read your responses to questions like, “what’s one thing that every dad needs”, we really understand just how much we love the moms and dads of our Facebook community. Your answers here make us laugh, think, cry and want to be better dads, husbands and people.

Connie Barler: How about a little more credit. My husband is a wonderful stay at home dad and he deserves the same credit a mom would get. They all do.

Nicholas Lewis: An amicable relationship with the child’s mum regardless of the situation. Kids are not weapons or toys.

Keith Foxall: Metal sheds. A place to call his own. I loved my shed. I could go and do nothing for hours. It was hard work. A few of my dad mates have their own gaming shed or cinema shed.

Daniel Singer: I’ve found the only thing I NEED is my children, they have made me become a better man and given me true understanding of love.

Drew Gardner: A lock on the bathroom door. I know an emergency locksmith in Connecticut that can help when you get locked in.

CJ Bruner: A strong woman that helps and always has his back. Neither parent can do it the way it needs to be done alone. It takes both parents to raise a child. Even if you’re not together.

Jack Potogs: Perspective. As my family grows older, my most treasured skill is still the ability to listen, understand and properly act on all the bullshit I hear from everyone in the family!

Jacob Bumgardner: For a daughter: a good hairbrush, and a whole bunch of those hair rubber band things. For a boy: plenty of sox and underwear.

Timothy Sullivan: A work out a routine involving the kids. It’s quite simple!

Martine Verhaar: Patience when helping the kids with their homework.

Kevin Cowan: The hug I get every day from my 2 year old son when I come in from work (plus my wife’s smile at the same time).

Stephen Connolly: 3 things. Imagination , patience & energy! Bag these 3 had you’ll cruise through the tough times.
