These are listed in chronological order of what exactly I’m thankful for each day

I’M THANKFUL FOR…

MY DAUGHTER – When she is ready to wake up in the morning, she stands in her crib with a smile on her face, ready to start the day. I’m thankful for her for being so strong and awesome. And she looks kind of like me.

BOTTLES OF MILK – Once Babs is awake (even if she’s not), she is ready for milk. And we’ve got it. A lot of it. Has there ever been a more perfect match than babies and milk? I think not.

COFFEE – Nothing helps start out the early morning of a dad like a good cup of Joe. Or three.

BABY WIPES – Imagine changing a baby’s diaper with a dry tissue, or a wet rag. No way. I know the Incans and Mayans did it back in the day, and I feel terrible for them.

BABY EINSTEIN – The only product I’ll mention…and I do so for this reason: My daughter has had a tough cold, and no matter how much we were playing, reading, or cuddling with her, she is still whining. When I put on Baby Einstein, she sat back, relaxed, and watched for an hour before dozing off. I’m thankful for that.

BUTTONS NEAR THE NECK ON ONESIES – My daughter does not enjoy when I put clothes on her. Not because I don’t understand “matching clothes,” but because I’m really slow at putting them on. It’s hard! However, when the neckline is a little wider, due to the above mentioned buttons, we work much better as a team.

NAP TIME – The great thing about nap time is that the baby is sleeping. Sometimes for a few hours!

CELL PHONE PICTURES – I’m very thankful for receiving pictures of my baby texted to me when I’m at work. Even if she’s eating my favorite remote control.

MY WIFE – I’m thankful for her all day, but when I get home from work that’s where it really shows. I realize all of the amazing stuff she has done all day for our baby. And she literally moved a child through her uterus nine months ago for me.

FROZEN DINNERS – Sometimes, parents just don’t have time. However, in some factory, somewhere, a guy named Lean Cuisine does. And he makes dinner for all of us.

BOOKS WITH THICK CARDBOARD-LIKE PAGES – My baby loves eating books as I’m reading to her. Thick pages on books are brilliant, as they don’t melt in her mouth, and the book will last until tomorrow.

LULLABY MUSIC – Let’s be honest…it calms us all down after a long day. Actually, I now get excited to hear it, so it actually calms me up before calming me down.

I’m thankful for lists like the above one, which makes me realize all that I am thankful for.

Dude, I'm ready to get out of bed already.
