From the dangers of social media to wide open water to drunks behind the wheel to a Saturday morning Caillou marathon, there’s a lot out there to scare us dads. We wanted to know what scares dads the most so we asked our amazing Facebook community. Below is just a small sample of your responses about what scares you the most.

Buck Braid: Not being there when they would scream “daddy help”!

Umer Ahmad: My kids being exposed to bigotry/racism. They’re 2nd generation Americans, how many generations does it take to be accepted? I dealt with my share growing up.

Chris Miller: Not being able to spend every day with them. They deserve better than 50/50 time with both parents and it just isn’t going to work. So, I’ll make the best out of my time and love every second of it!! I had to fight like hell to get my equal time.

Mark Elliot: My eldest is signing up for the army in just over 2 years. He’s off to military college next September. I just don’t want anyone shooting at him. He’s too precious!!

Joseph M Wyatt Jr.: The phrase “Mr. Wyatt, your son’s cancer has some back!” I couldn’t stand to go thru that again. My son is MY Super Hero! Today he is CANCER FREE, 3 1/2 YEARS!!!!

Matt Stapenell: Spending so much of my time working and trying to build them a life for when i die, but realising they dont want ‘stuff’, they just want their dads time. This is my dilemma at the moment, time for a massive simplification of my life i think.

Matt Adkins: The thought of not making it home. I occasionally have long drives for work and I’m always hyper-vigilant because the thought of my boys (and my girlfriend) having to live with the fact that I didn’t survive a crash, that we didn’t get to have those goodnight hugs and kisses, that they couldn’t even say goodbye to me is the worst feeling I’ve ever experienced. Just the thought of them crying crushes my soul. True story.

Aaron Okola: Losing my little girl to the beast that is pediatric cancer… She has stage 4 neuroblastoma but thank God is in remission… Team Monroe. It’s not as rare as you might think..

Richard Jackson: Since my first was a baby… it’s open water. Scares the crap out of me. Sometimes, even after 7 years, I wake up at night in cold sweats!

Donnie D Mapes: Being stuck in a confined space unable to move. Crawling through air vents or like spelunking. If I can’t stand up or have room to turn around, forget it. Even watching movies where there is people in tight, compressed spaces, I have an anxiety attack.

Ryan Chapman: I’m always afraid that when were driving around, someone won’t pay attention to what they’re doing and will hit us. Unfortunately there’s been a lot of DUIs in my area, if you ever get one just contact the right law firm, the Florida DUI Lawyers talk about hardship license in florida.
