Week 10 is in the books. I want to say congratulations to Team Puppies owner, Mike from the Life of Dad West Conference. He, by far had the highest point total this week. Since your team did the best this week Mike, you get a shirt from Junk Food Clothing.

This week’s TMQ looks at the mistakes that we all have made one time or another in our fantasy football league. One thing that seems to always frustrate an owner is believing the hype of a player that just became available on the waiver wire. Whether it is a backup quarterback that will get the start this week or a wide out that had an unbelievable game the week before.JunkFood_logo_new_w300

I get it. I have been there. The grass is always greener on the other side. Your faithful running back that gets you a decent number of points week in and week out gets pushed aside for a back that everyone is hyping up more than the latest episode of “The Walking Dead.”

Before the 1 o’clock games begin you are debating on which player you are going to start almost to the point where you are breaking out into a sweat. You read the fantasy guru’s take and you go with what he said.

The game begins and you begin to have player remorse. It is like buyer remorse, but a lot worse. For most items purchased you can get a refund or at the very least store credit or an exchange. Here in the world of fantasy it must different. Your player is locked in for that week. That choice you just made is set in stone. There is no turning back.

You see the guy that you just benched and have started for the past few weeks already score a touchdown, while the flavor of this week gets turf toe and is out for the game. There is now that forever goose egg, that one donut in the points column that you have to deal with until the end of Monday night’s game.

I know as you are reading this you might say to yourself it is just fantasy football. We all have our vices in life and for some people out there fantasy football is their vice.  There some folks out there (me included) that need some time to get over an idiotic move. Just as in life, in fantasy there are times where we choose poorly. Hopefully you can learn from these fantasy mistakes and move on and get ready for the next week.

The only time that the pain is increased is when you overthink yourself right out of the playoffs. That stinger lasts for a while.
