Last week it was Calvin “MEGATRON” Johnson that went off and had a historic game. This week it was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles that had a game for the ages. Foles threw for 406 yards and tied an NFL record with 7 passing touchdowns against the Oakland Raiders. That is one reason why I love the NFL. From week to week you never know who will step up and give a performance of a lifetime.

Before I go any further I will now announce this week’s winner, which is John of Spokane Virtual Shock from the Life of Dad East Conference. Congratulations John on winning your first shirt from the Life of Dad Fantasy Football League. A big thanks to Junk Food Clothing for supplying us these fantastic NFL shirts this year. John, wear your shirt with pride.JunkFood_logo_new_w300

Not only did Nick Foles have a spectacular game, but there were other players that might have helped out your team. Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson had a game that fantasy owners were waiting for. Johnson hauled in 3 touchdowns with 229 receiving yards.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had a Tecmo Bowl style run that virtual Bo Jackson would be jealous of. One of his rushing touchdowns on paper stated it was a 35-yard touchdown run, but he ran a total of 101 yards dodging tacklers left and right, up and down until his run ended up in pay dirt.

New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham keeps proving why a tight end was drafted in the first round for many fantasy football leagues. He had 116 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Just a regular day at work for Graham.

One of the key injuries that had fantasy owners hold their breath happened last night. During the Green Bay Packers game against the Chicago Bears, Aaron Rodgers landed on his left shoulder when he was sacked by Bears defensive end Shea McClellin. Rodgers was in street clothes for the rest of the night. Hopefully Aaron will be okay for future games. If not the waiver wire could see some action this upcoming week as owners are scrambling to get a QB replacement. (Pun intended.)

So as we are on the second half of the NFL season, how is your team doing? Is there any hope for your team to make it into the playoffs? In the Life of Dad fantasy league I think I am preparing myself for missing the postseason. Now I get to play spoiler in this league. Teams that are facing my watch out….no not really. If you are playing me I am sure you have nothing to worry about. There is always next year right?
