Not always.  Not in the first year.  But once you get past the initial shock and horror of adding a second kid to your family, it gets easier.  I promise you.

Two Kids

Where one goes, the other always follows…

Babs is now 3 ½ while Tommy Boy is almost two.  Together, they chase each other around all day, play with the same toys, and have become best of friends.  Whether they are riding toy cars around in our driveway, or hanging out in the playroom, they always want to be together.  When one wakes up in the morning, they can’t wait to wake up the other.  Yes, they fight sometimes, and I’m sure it will get worse, but for now, they are loving each other.

My wife and I didn’t realize how good we had it until Babs’ first day of pre-school this year.  Tommy started screaming in terror when he realized that she was staying at school, and he had to leave without her.

Every day she leaves for school I have to distract him, so he doesn’t see her exit.  If he does, waterfalls ensue for at least a half hour.

If I’m home with just my son, he is scoping the house for his sister or his mom until their return.

When Babs is home, he just plays with her.

So there, yeah, I said it.  At this point in life, two kids are easier than one.
