It’s that time of year again, the time when we’re reminded to be thankful for all that we have in life; the people, the health, the pizza, the chocolate – you know, the important things. We are aware that we shouldn’t take things for granted during the year but life is hectic and so we’re thankful for the annual Thanksgiving heads-up to stop, if only for a day before the manic shopping begins, and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for in our lives. Here’s a taste of what the dads and moms of the Life of Dad Facebook community are thankful for this year.

We’re publishing just one ‘thankful for my loved one’ and then moving on to the other stuff you guys and gals are thankful for right now, from disposable diapers to video games. Here we go!

Timothy James: My amazing Fiancé Tegan.
She gave me the chance to be a father. She is simply amazing, she completed university whilst pregnant. Finished her final exam heavily pregnant, and has had stable employment as a teacher since.
Whilst I have had multiply jobs.
She holds this family down, and I’m forever thankful and appreciative of that

Christopher Lafriniere: Pizza and video games. That’s right. My 6 year old self just fist pumped in victory.

Pad Swift: For my three lads sense of humor — what a tonic after a hard days graft, to just enjoy the laughs and banter.

Josiah Pauletti: Macaroni & Cheese.

Luke Durham: Disposable Diapers.

Jeremy Vanblaricum: Skate 3 finally on Xbox 1!

Ant Cordero: Nyquil.

Manel Sol Belkacem: Chocolate and pizza… can’t choose.

Rachel Smith: Beer and free WiFi.

Jason Wagster: My kids being in bed!

Phil Nesbitt: My chance to serve our country honorably. I may be disabled from it, but f*cking hell I’d go back if they needed me and wouldn’t change the experience for anything. AATW!

Nicholas Christian: The work ethic that my parents taught me that has allowed me to become who I am today. I hope to pass along the same to my children.

Nicole van Rooijen: That my children have a fantastic father and stepfather so they have a better example in their live then I had.

Finally, this short and sweet one from Paul Bub LaChance applies to us all: Another day above the dirt.
