Art Eddy and Ryan Hamilton talk about how Life of Dad co-founder, Tommy Riles, had one of the best Super Bowl Sundays ever. Not only did his New England Patriots win, but he and his son were in the Dove Men + Care ad during the game. Art and his daughter are in the online commercial, too.

They also talk about Ryan’s great post called "The Code Tonight Will Be Perfection", and how a simple Facebook status update turned into a blog post.

Art and Ryan then bring on Darren Mattock from Becoming Dad. Darren is now recognised as one of Australia’s leading expectant and new dad specialists. He is a trained working with men professional, group work facilitator and educator. With an extensive and rich background in community services, allied health, men’s work, birth education and parenting, Darren brings a unique mix of knowledge, insights, skills, perspectives, ideas and philosophies to his work.

Over the past 6 years of his passion-led journey, Darren has facilitated birth preparation workshops for dads, fatherhood preparation courses, new dads support groups and pregnancy workshops for couples.

He has also presented education sessions for midwives and birth professionals at midwifery conferences and as part of midwifery university courses, including the Australian College of Midwives, University of Western Sydney and Southern Cross University.

Darren has been interviewed by the Sydney Morning Herald, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and ABC Radio on numerous occasions on expectant dads, new dads, birth and fatherhood. He has also been commissioned to write fatherhood articles for Practical Parenting Magazine — Australia’s #1 Parenting Magazine.

Darren’s story, "Tuesdays With Charlie" was recently published in the book, "Dads Behaving Dadly: 67 Truths, Tears and Triumphs of Modern Fatherhood" (USA, 2014), by Hogan Hilling and Al Watts.

In 2012, Darren founded Becoming Dad. It is his passion, mission and vision to positively transform the experiences of men as they are becoming dad by creating more opportunities for them to receive father-focused and male-friendly engagement, education and support.

Darren’s life’s work is inspired by becoming dad to his son Charlie.
