Why We Should Care about the Disability Treaty

It is expected that the U.S. Senate may soon bring to a vote ratification of the Convention (otherwise known as Treaty) on the Rights of People with Disabilities which seeks to equalize rights and opportunities for people with disabilities around the world.  President Obama signed the treaty in 2009 and 119 nations of the world have already ratified the convention.  Join us as we discuss with leading disability political leaders from both sides of the aisle – Dick Thornburgh and Tony Coehlo – why the Senate should ratify this convention and why parents of children with disabilities should care.  Also joining the discussion will be David Morrissey, Executive Director of the U.S. International Council on Disabilities.  We invite your questions and comments.
