There’s no right or wrong answer to the question ‘how many children are the perfect amount of children’ but that didn’t stop us from asking the dads and moms of our Facebook community if they want to have more, which kinda turned into a thread about how many is the right amount of kids. So here’s the definitive answer to the impossible and very personal question that can only be answered by each individual parent, how many children is the perfect amount of children:
Steve Greenfield: When I was younger, I wanted five children. My wife, the smarter of the two of us, suggested taking it more slowly than I desired. It’s a good thing “we” followed her advice and intelligence. While I was capable, the idea of having more than three would have taxed our monetary limits. That might’ve been a tad difficult so, no I don’t think having more than three would have been a good thing.
Aimee Gildner: My fiance wanted a bigger family, but when our daughter was born with a heart defect, he didn’t want to take the chance of having more children with birth defects. Instead, we now host exchange students, and it is soooo rewarding!
Alex Lopez: I always thought I wanted a big family.. Like 5 kids.. But after 1 I think maybe just 1 more in the future! My soon to be 2 year old has been more than enough since he was born.
Devin Stanford: Planned on 3, but with pregnancy complications, we’re good with 2. My boys are now 14 and almost 9. Daddy is done with daycare and diapers. I tell my wife if she can’t wait for grand kids and wants another one she needs another husband.
James Murray-Ferris: I don’t know. My answer changes daily, I think of the process and go my god could I face that again and put my son through it as well (we adopted).
Amy Lee: We don’t have time, money or energy for another…and yet, we want another!
Mikaela Cowling: We have 5 and last one planned for next summer,
Kevin Huro: I feel I’m done. I have a 3-year-old step son and a 3-month-old biological son. However my girlfriend doesn’t think she wants to be done.
Matt De Dominicis: The company I work for just announced 20 weeks paid parental leave for both men and women.. so yes! One more will do!
Erol Toksoy: As a kid without siblings I always wanted big family. Now I have twin boys so me and wife don’t want to push our chances.
Jacob Nixon is a collector and he’s got the whole set: I’ve got a boy & a girl. I’ve collected all 2. I’m good.
