This is timely in my part of the world, where winter has been nothing but dark, grey and wet. Hardly any snow and even less sun. The weather has been getting everyone down so here’s a bunch of fun ideas to bring some light and happiness into your life on those rainy, miserable days. Of course, there’s always our main man Art Eddy and his Art & Crafts ideas here on Life of Dad!

What's something fun to do with your kid when it rains?

Scotty Schrier: We sit and make a list of all of the different activities that they could be doing if it weren’t raining so badly. Then I laugh at them mercilessly as they cry…because life is hard, yo.

Kidding, we usually bust out the Fort Boards or play Legos.

Stacey Marie Sanchez: As weird as it sounds we have twilight marathons & drink Mexican hot chocolate.

Chris Marsh: Sometimes we go outside to enjoy the rain. Or we have dance parties inside with loud music.

Jeannette Frost: No icy muddy puddle jumping here! We are putting paper on the walls of the playroom and painting finger painting!

Justin Bowman: I like to make them mop the driveway. 😉

Roger Maxwell Jr.: Mud football.

Tristan Welch: Crafts. Take the middle bit from toilet paper or a paper towl roll, some paper and pens and boom: rockets!

Juan Benavides: An advanced version of tickling, that I call finger Kung Fu.

James Millet: Make camp in the living room and watch movies and eat popcorn

Richard Willis: Share a rain umbrella – LTC Office Supplies

Rudy De Gazón: Take Selfies.

Randal Stout: A game of charades… Builds imagination and communication skills.

If all else fails, there’s always screentime! Rainy days, just like sick days home from school, don’t count against screen time limits, right mom and dad? 🙂
