Being a good dad means being good at a lot of things, from changing diapers without getting poop on yourself to playing the ‘sleeping’ game on the floor with your kids. We recently asked the dads of our Facebook community to tell us what they are really good at. Here are some of the great responses.

Erik Justo: Improvising. I couldn’t find my younger daughter’s sippy cup and ended up giving her my sports bottle. She was happy. Wife was like “wtf is this” I told her a happy toddler.

Sherwyn Mack: Knowing things like Humpty Dumpty’s middle name and such for trivia time, but can no longer hold a conversation with adults to save your life!

Dave Pearce: Peripheral vision…Always watching my very confident 3 year old out of the corner of my eye without being a helicopter parent.

Aron Dietzel: Opening a candy wrapper without any of your kids knowing.

Kyle Rhora: Rocking a newborn to sleep while getting a toddler breakfast so that their mom can get some rest.

Ben Goble: Holding your daughters hair with one hand as she pukes while eating a sandwich with the other.

Heath Mauger: Singing all the words to Miffy’s Adventures Great and Small theme song at your desk at work. Like I just unconsciously did.

Chris Balding: Playing with your kid from 1-4 in the morning and then pulling a full days work.

Brian Lara: Putting Barbie clothes on and taking ‘em off with no snags. Proud to say I’m a Barbie dressing expert.

Simon Cranmer: Knowing when the thermostat has been touched.

Andy Richardson: Sneak eating chocolate. I’m the #reesesninja.

Galen Schmitt: having your kids tell you about their day and listening intently.

Salvatore Lagana: Making your child laugh right after making them cry.

Tommy Ainsworth: Braiding hair and painting nails.

Daniel Clarke: Talking like Daddy Pig [from Peppa Pig]!!
