Forget who is the best QB of all time — Montana, Marino, Brady?? — try getting guys to agree on the best classic video game ever. Here are just some of the games tossed out by the dads of our Facebook community. For my money, the old hockey game for Nintendo that made you pick the speedy skinny guy, the slow fat dude or the very average player. That was awesome but probably doesn’t hold up well after all these years!

What's the best classic video game?

Paul Cottrell: It really depends on what you consider a classic. N64 debuted in 1996. Its over 20 years old but is it old enough to be a classic system? If so, Ocarina of Time was the best video game ever made.

Charley Ray: Anyone else remember the pre-Windows Star Wars X-Wing? I wish I could get it running on an emulator. I could play that thing all day.

Derick Jackson: Oh man. This is a good one. If you go genre for genre I think rpg would be Dragon warrior for the NES. Action would have to be battletoads. Shooter would be the original unreal tournament. Diablo 1 for action rpg.

Andrew Roden: SNES Mario Kart… In terms of sheer playability and fun it still kicks everything elses backside… Also proves you don’t need 4k graphics to have a good game too.

Mitch Hemann: I’m probably the only guy here who’ll say Vanguard. Used to ride my bike every weekend to the Arby’s in my neighborhood to play it.

Robert Hunter III: Pong! Naw, I think it would have to have the word “Mario” in it. Super Mario bros 1 or 3, super Mario world, super Mario 64, Mario kart, pick one.

Jeff Pach: Golden eye guys… Golden eye.

Alex Walton: Super Mario World. End of discussion!

Mike Menke: What the hell is wrong with you people? uhhh… Final Fantasy VII?

Erin Lee: Adventure. Circa 1979, for Atari. High tech graphics, man. I loved this game.

John Schroeder: Sega hockey 1993 – the last year the players punched each other. Great game.

Obed Calderon: Nuff said. My friend and I would play for hours on rainy days.
