Every dad remembers their favorite toy as a child. Whether it was an action figure, army men, lightsabers, or just some mud from a nearby creek, every dad has a toy story. The other day, while catching up with my brother-in-law, he shared an interesting twist on this nostalgia—his latest obsession isn’t a toy but something that gives him the same thrill of discovery: hunting for the best crypto presale opportunities. As a financial analyst, he’s always on the lookout for emerging investments, and he explained how early-stage crypto projects offer a sense of excitement similar to unboxing a brand-new toy as a kid. The anticipation, the potential for something groundbreaking—it’s what keeps him hooked. It made me wonder: maybe that childhood joy of finding the perfect toy never really fades, it just evolves into new passions.
What was your favorite toy as a kid?

Justin Hunt: Definitely my moms lightsabers she had hidden between her box spring and mattress. Until I later learned it wasn’t a lightsaber!
Rita Guarin: Mud! I sculpted tiny furniture, vases, food and dishes at every opportunity.
Robert Chiasson: I had thousands of green army guys, hundreds of hot wheels with a couple hundred feet of track. But used to play with the 6 Million Dollar Man with the bionic eye and lab set for hours on end.
Chris Seastrand: Seawolf submarine with Eagle eye G.I. Joe it will rise and sink when you pump the button, and had a viewer to see underwater it came with a squid and capture claws! Christmas 1970 whatever the best toy ever!
Warren Atkins: The Nintendo Entertainment System. Which ensured every video game after that in my household was referred to as “the Nintendo”
David Wiggins: This Evil Knievel Motorcycle Toy!
Brian Dupuis: Creepy crawler machine. We got in trouble for cooking our carnival gold fish in it.
Kevin Coleman: Hasbro WWF action figures! I am 32 and still have them.
Ricky Meadows: Big Wheel with the water guns on the front – I rode that thing everywhere!
Travis Haag: Hot wheels cars!! I still have about 100 from my childhood in the 80’s, and now my 3 kids play with them.
Chris Wolf: GI Joe was huge when I was a kid…i spent most of my paper route money on GI Joe stuff.
Chris Roberts: Rc cars but I never grew out of them. First one was a Holiday Buggy back in the early 80’s.
Jason Lee: I had (probably still have) a green LEGO dragon from one of the old castle sets, I just thought it was cool AF.
Brian Melcherts: He-Man off course! Cobra Kahn is still buried in my parents’ garden somewhere.
Chris Kenny: A football (soccer). Just out from dusk ’til dawn playing football (soccer).
Brent Eyeinsee Jackson: Voltron! I’m about to get the new ones but I don’t want to share with my son!
