What’s the saying, The Devil Is In The Details”? Yeah, that’s totally true and the beauty of everyday life, being a dad, and watching your kids grow up is all about the small details too. We dads with older kids know not to overlook the small parts of life, because that’s what it is all about in the end, so we wanted to know what the dads of our Facebook page think about the question “what’s something small that you really care about?” Here’s just a small (get it?) taste of what you told us:

Frank Bustamante: Stores and restaurants that don’t have baby changing tables in men’s bathrooms. Not all dads are dead beats….some of us do step up to plate.

Clayton Miracle: My second child on the way! My wife is a little over 7 weeks pregnant, and we just heard the little heartbeat for the first time the other day. Such a familiar sound, but my heart filled with love all over.

Pete Hellmuth: When my 2 year old son holds my hand makes me happy knowing he will be a teenager in no time and it will be way uncool to show his dad he love him.

Chas Gipson: Watching my kids enjoy the little things in life and wishing sometimes it was always just that simple. Not to have any worries of any sort.

Alex Scott Costanzo: Junk food…. I hate when I someone in my family gives my son soda.

Ariel Stewart Rolph: My husband felt like a total winner when I told him our daughter had to call the server back for the cheese at Olive Garden, because it “didn’t taste as good as daddy’s” without it. This is our picky eater too.

Daniel Peel: The little grin my 5 month old cracks when she sees me walk in, it’s that moment that you know she recognizes her dad just walked in, such a good feeling.

Chad Lockhart: My shoe collection, it used to be bigger but marriage and having a kid priorities took over and it got small but I still care — dang it!

Frankie Dupree: Not currently being deployed and being in a position where I am able to say prayers with my little man every night at bedtime.

Nathan Geoffrey Bickley: My son. He’s only a foot tall at the moment so… smallish.

Simon Green: Brushing my 4 year old daughters to be told I’m doing wrong. Makes me smile every time.

Rob LeBlanc: Gratitude. It’s the best received, yet shortest lived emotion.

We thought we’d leave it there because gratitude is indeed the best small thing we can all do for one another. What is a small detail that you really care about? Tell us on Facebook!
