I was never a Boy Scout, but I did follow one of their main motto’s which was to always be prepared. Whether it was for school, work, or play I tried to pack everything I would possibly need for that day. Following that motto really helped me out even more when I became a father.

A few years back when my daughters were babies and still in diapers I knew that my day would be great if I had the diaper bag fully stocked. One day I didn’t check to see if all the items were accounted for in the bag before I ventured out with the kids. We were at a park and I smelled something funky from my daughter’s behind. As I was changing her diaper I realized that I had no baby wipes in the bag! At that moment I got a terrible feeling and my legs began to shake as fear washed over me. Let me just say that incident will be a day long remembered in this household. After that experience I made sure I checked the diaper bag every time we left the house.

Now that my kids are older and no longer wear diapers I still had some of the backpacks that I used as diaper bags. I didn’t want to throw them out. They were in great condition so I needed to find a way to use them. I thought of a way to reuse the bags. I would make diaper bags for my car. With my recent tax return from Uncle Sam I decided to turn those bags that were once filled with diapers and wipes into car diaper bags for both of my cars. After I got my tax refund I went to my local AutoZone and picked up some key items that I could place in those backpacks.

Some of the items that I put in those backpacks were jumper cables, a flashlight with extra batteries, a tire repair kit, road flares, duct tape, a multi-tool, a can of oil, and a first aid kit. I was able to pick up these all of these items at AutoZone. I told the store manager what I was looking to do and he helped me by recommending a few of those items that he has in his car. He laughed at the idea of calling it a diaper bag for the car, but saw the connection of how you always need to be prepared. He and I shared a few funny stories about fatherhood. We talked about how there always seems to be something fun and rewarding each and every day you experience as a father. And for reversing camera kits, you can get good deals from TruckElectrics.

He also told me about their rewards program. Now that I find myself at AutoZone more and more these days using the rewards programs helps me score some discounts that I can receive on my purchases. Plus I am able to get some free stuff for being part of the rewards program. There are even special deals on different items that I want to buy using that program. It is not just on items that I would never need.

The store manager also gave me an idea about putting another bag together. In that bag he said to put in some non-perishable snacks, water bottles, some cash, a blanket, and a map. All of these items could come in handy if my car broke down or if my car got a flat tire. It is also important to have a working spare tire and a tire jack in case you ever have to change a tire while you are on the road. Expedite Towing San Diego ensures safe and reliable service. So if I can pass along any helpful advice I would say that you need to get a diaper bag for your car. Your car might not thank you, but the passengers will if you ever run into any problems while on the road. You never want to run out of diapers when you are out with your baby and you never want to feel helpless when your car is in need of a minor repair. Using that Boy Scout’s motto of always being prepared will help you in most situations when it comes to your car. Don’t put it off another day. Stop into AutoZone and put together a car diaper bag!
