“Interception Calzone Inception”
What could be better than a breakfast Calzone to fill you up and get you ready for a day of locked down basketball action?? How about a calzone wrapped in a calzone. That’s right, it’s Calzone-ception up in this piece during the NCAA tournament.
We’ve wrapped a breakfast Hot Pocket, tater tots and cheese inside of a pizza dough and covered with crispy Waffle crumbles and it will blow your friggin’ mind.
Easy Home Meals products used:
Hot Pockets Breakfast
Ore Ida Tater Tots
2 Eggo Cinnamon Waffles
Preheat oven to 425. Microwave your Hot Pockets as instructed on the box. Same for your Tater Tots. When Hot Pockets are done, cut them into small strips. Roll out your pizza dough so it’s thin, but not too thin (spread some flour on your table before working it and sprinkle it over the exterior as you stretch it). Try not to break it, it won’t go back together. Cut the dough into 3 even pieces. Spread it out into a triangle-ish shape. Add your Tater Tots, Hot Pocket strips and a little (or big) handful of Mozzarella Cheese. Fold the dough over it so it’s encased in bready goodness. Throw it in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. Start to chop up the Waffles into very small pieces. Once the exterior of the calzone is golden brown, remove from the oven. Mix your egg up in a bowl and then brush it over the top of your calzone. Cover it liberally and then add the waffle sprinkles to the top. Most will stick, but put them on carefully. Throw it back in the oven for about 10 more minutes or until the waffles are looking crispy. Take it out and chomp down on breakfast heaven.
