About the size of my son.
I just received my weekly update from BabyCenter, which told me that Tommy boy is now 16.7 inches long, and weighing in at around 3.75 lbs. This baby is a baby already! And we’re told that he is the size of a jicama. I didn’t know what they were, so I just looked one up. Jicamas look like a cross between a potato and an onion. I hope my son doesn’t look or smell like them.
Baby Tommy now has toenails, fingernails, and hair. It is now really sinking in for the first time. We’re having another baby!
BabyCenter also said that now is the time to start discussing who will be in the birth room.
I can’t think of a better time to share a quick story about right after Babs’ birth…
A few minutes after Babs was born, the doctor asked if anybody had any questions.
Lucy’s dad, who was there for morale support, said, “Yeah, I have a question.”
While going into his wallet to pull out his parking ticket, my father-in-law said, “Do you guys validate?”
The doctor kind of laughed it off, saying, you need to talk to the nurse…and that was that.
Turns out, parking is free if you have a baby, so we are less than two months away from free parking again!
