Recently Reddit user i-am-stan (regularly known as Stan), a new father, received a precious gift from a good friend of his. While most people would run out and get a pack and play, or a set of adorable onsies, those gifts are fleeting. They are destined to become garage sale fodder and smaller cousin hand-me-downs. This friend’s act of thoughtfulness, however, is something that will be cherished for all time. This friend gave their adorable little baby Dad’s epic beard.
I asked Stan some important questions about the picture and its place in their newly expanded family.
–How old is your baby?
“Spencer is currently six months old. He was around three months going on 40 when the picture was taken.”
–Did you ask your friend to make this, or was it just a glorious gift?
“I did not ask Derick to make this. I wasn’t even aware he had the ability to do anything like this. It was a very pleasant gift to receive out of the blue.”
–What did you guys think about it when you saw it?
“My wife and I loved it. How can we not? Our baby had his face graced with a magnificent beard at a very young age. It can only point to greatness in his future.”
–How big of a frame can you get for when you hang it on your mantle?
“Our mantel is about seven feet long. So the biggest frame that will fit on that.”
“I’m glad other people get enjoyment out of the picture and I’m excited that this will be something I can share with him when he is older.”
Congratulations to Stan and his wife on the new baby. We’re happy they are raising Spencer around awesome friends like Derick.
