Amazing parent/child moments can happen anywhere from the beach to the grocery store to the local zoo! We wanted to know about some favorite places dads and moms like to take their kids — so we asked them! Here’s the best of what we heard from the real dads and moms of the Life of Dad Facebook community.

“The zoo love seeing her amazement and hearing her say all the animals when she is not even two yet.” — Craig Alan Flatman

“Since my daughter got a part-time job, the only time I see her is if she needs something ($) or wants to drive. So I drop everything in my life when she txt me and wants to hang out, even if it is just to spend money on her or let her drive my car around.” — Ian Dahl

“I like to take my oldest to the movies because I love seeing the wonder and curiosity in his eyes while we’re watching sci fi or comic book movies.” — Sam E. Garvin

Andrew Hubbard describes his weekend ritual:
“Friday is movie night (tonight is Jungle Book)
Saturday is fishing & park
Sunday is church”

Making the most of your hometown is always great:

Izaak, “Living in DC is great because we have so many museums to go to. When my two were very little, it was either the train museum (American History), dinosaur museum (Natural History), or the plane museum (Smithsonian Air and Space).”

“We go to the main Carnegie Library branch in Pittsburgh on Sundays. Its is so beautiful. Its attached to the museum. I get my sons snacks and they hang out in the teen section and meet other nice kids, go on the computers, play games, etc.” — Maria Elena Macioszek

“Clearwater Beach, Florida. We sometimes grab a to-go sandwich after school, and go eat while watching the sunset at the beach.” — Chris Correira

“The St. Louis Zoo … kids love it and it’s free … save money for a picnic with them outside.” — Corey Baker

“Phillies games, I love baseball and they love the Phanatic. It’s a win win!” — Patrick Curry

“Buffalo wild wings with my 2.5 year old. She loves the fried pickles. Only problem is she does not share.” — Kaz Pumphrey

The great outdoors is almost always a treat:

“Hiking, I’m a single father of 3 and am so happy that my kids share my love for exploring the wilderness.” — Chris Crocker

“Fishing, absolutely love going with my 12 year old even though she out fishes me and my 3 year old got her first pole from the Easter Bunny this year.” — Blake Hacker

“ We live on a golf course so we like to walk to the pond and feed bread to the ducks” — James Carter

And finally, some honest humor from Michael Kilby, who loves outings to “The bank… To deposit my tax refund. Thanks kids!”
