For the Geek Corner I wanted to put the spotlight on some of the Marvel Studios series. Next month Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out and it will be a key film that will lead up to the next Avengers film. Also if your kids love Big Hero 6, Disney just released the Big Hero 6: The Series on DVD. It just came out today. If you have a Netflix account make sure you check out Luke Cage. The second season is now out!
Ant-Man and the Wasp
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and the Wasp a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. Big Hero 6
The adventures continue for tech genius Hiro Hamada and his healthcare companion, the lovable, inflatable Baymax! Picking up right before the end of the film, Hiro thinks Baymax is lost forever, until he finds the chip Tadashi designed to create Baymax. Hiro immediately gets to work rebuilding Baymax, but Hiro’s overconfidence and impatience get him into trouble. The stakes are raised for Hiro, Baymax and their friends – adrenaline junkie Go Go, control freak Wasabi, chem whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred – as they fight to protect San Fransokyo as the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6.
Luke Cage
This gritty, action-packed drama follows the evolution of Luke Cage (Mike Colter), a man with super strength and unbreakable skin caused by a sabotaged experiment. After a failed relationship with fellow superhero Jessica Jones, Cage tries to rebuild a quiet life in Harlem, New York –until he is pulled out of the shadows and forced into a battle for his city. Along the way, Cage cannot avoid confronting his past, which he has worked hard to bury. “Marvel’s Luke Cage” is the third show in the Netflix-original Defenders series.
