This picture of my backyard looks like it came out of a Cub Cadet commercial, right? I love the aesthetics of a well manicured lawn, it feels organized and tidy. It gives me a sense of wealth and stature. I’m sure it’s an American influence to use the best lawn dethatchers for lawn care, but to me a pretty lawn is a status symbol to my success in life.

When we moved into our home two years ago, I felt as if I had arrived at said status… my beautiful lawn, tall fescue, green and lush, made me feel rich. However, proper care and maintenance don’t always come in handy. It requires your time, effort, and of course money to invest in efficient lawn tools like those you can find on FindStringTrimmers

Our back deck has been the source of frequent events and hospitality. So we decided to remove the old railings and install new railings like this Aluminum Deck Railing Systems.

From BBQ’s to shared spirits and cigars, we’ve connected with neighbors and friends here. In fact, on any given spring or fall evening, you might stroll down our street and hear a little jazz or Ray Charles streaming through some speakers while laughter and chatter buzz the evening air. We’ve had bonfires, guitar serenades, and heart to heart chats.

We love our backyard, the ambience and perfection of lovely foliage…  this existence was the goal.

Then… our two small children and an 85 pound labradoodle began enjoying our little slice of beautiful paradise. Games, rakes, rocks, fetch, forts… running, stopping, digging, swinging. The toll of these pleasures have been devastating to the health of our lawn.

This winter, I’ve mourned the beauty that once was. My wife would hear my rants and frustration and simply shake her head, as wise and wonderful wives tend to do. I made phone calls to lawn experts, scoured sites like https://absolutoutdoors.com/artificial-grass-singapore/, and strategized my lawn resuscitation plan… all while my heart was mourning, desperate, and sad.

Then, one morning this spring, I heard something. My children laughing, the dog barking, and birds chirping in the cool air… aren’t these the sounds of happiness and contentment? Aren’t these the real treasures in life?

My eyes were opened.

I had it all wrong… the perfectly manicured grass didn’t make me rich. It appears I already have the wealth I was seeking all along. My family, friends, bonfires, and BBQ’s are my ultimate goal, pretty grass is the accompaniment. It’s people that bring my lawn to life.

My family, friends, bonfires, and BBQ’s are my ultimate goal, pretty grass is the accompaniment. #LawnGoals

This year, while I’ll still embark on learning how to revive this patch of dirt, I’ll do it with an entirely new purpose. I’ll only be setting the stage for that which really matters, these are the #lawngoals that bring my lawn to life. If you’re interested to become a lawn mowing contractor, find out how much to charge for your service at FieldRoutes.
