I used to get really excited about movies coming out. There was the long build-up to the release date, the promotions for it, the speculation about how good it’s going to be…but over the past few years, that has diminished. Not because the quality of movies has dipped or trends have moved away from my tastes. The opposite actually.

The thing is that nowadays, a new Superhero film is released with such awesome frequency, that the excitement of one barely dies down before it’s time to see the next. With Incredibles 2, however, I’ve been excited since they announced the film a few years ago when Pixar gave their future lineup.

There were many reasons I loved the first movie in this franchise. Being a big fan of James Bond, I love the spy and covert operative side of the movie. The quasi-60’s feel to the film in theme was brilliant as was the superhero spin on the traditional spy genre. As a parent, I obviously connected with the typical parenting and relationship challenges that Mr. and Mrs. Incredible went through. It was a nice reminder that even though we all have to take on the everyday duties of parenting, we are still superheroes to our kids. So this was one I was definitely excited about for a long while and was thrilled when I had the opportunity to go to the premiere, thanks to our friends at Clorox.

The premiere was held at The El Capitan in Hollywood. It’s an old Hollywood theater-style venue and when we walked in, aside from having our modern cell phones confiscated, it felt like stepping into Hollywood history. So many incredible (no pun intended) movies premiered there!

As we took our seats the house organ player was on stage belting out the Disney catalogue and the audience was even singing along to some of the tunes. And then, to my kids utter disbelief, the organ player sank into the floor of the stage when it was time for the movie to begin. I told my children that he is the last old organ player on earth and he was going to meet his fiery demise deep in the bowels of Hollywood. They didn’t have more than a few seconds to think about the concept of hell as a form of punishment for playing an antiquated instrument in the modern times before the curtain came up and the Pixar short began playing on the screen.

I don’t want to give away any secrets but the “shorts” that Pixar creates are some of my favorite animated pieces. And this one was no different. A beautiful family story of loss, coming home and dumplings.

The big show started immediately after and there really is nothing like going to the movies on the first night or premiere or sneak peek. The crowd was very “Incredibles” educated and they hung on every word, reference and call back to the previous movie. It was a blast from start to finish. The way they weave in the family dynamics through the superhero mythology is outstanding. And for the stay-at-home dads out there you’ll get a big kick out of the messaging. It’s perfect!

Needless to say, I loved the movie as did my whole family. Watching Mr. Incredible tackle the incredibly hard lifestyle of a stay-at-home parent was great, but more importantly, watching the family come together as a team is really where the movie shines. What I really identified with, though, were the small tasks every parent needs to tackle every day to keep their family safe from less tangible bad guys around us every day.

The Incredibles get to confront their nemesis head-on with their kids at their side. Me, on the other hand, I remain a superhero in the shadows when it comes to my kids. They don’t know the behind-the-scenes actions I take every day to keep our house clean and to get rid of as many germs, mildew and molds as I can. This company that does mold inspections Rolling Hills Ca is the only one I trust. A task made infinitely more manageable thanks to Clorox. Using the Clorox Clean-up®, Cleaner + Bleach, I’m able to disinfect surfaces and devices all around my house. Mr. Incredible battles one bad guy, I battle millions with this stuff, killing 99% of the germs. If you’re counting foes, I’m really the one that’s Incredible. Where’s my mask??

The kids toys also get a nice cleaning. Check out the proper way to give them a nice long bath. Once again, the germs are goners and I’m feeling better about protecting my household. I’m not just doing it for them either. I certainly don’t want to get sick with something someone brought into the house. When I’m sick, I can’t be the best parent I can. My superhero stock goes WAY WAY down. So along with hand washing, eating healthy and drinking loads of water, Clorox helps me to help them and myself.

Getting the opportunity to see Incredibles II with my family was a fantastic experience. I love it even more because I had the opportunity through Clorox, who helps me to be the superhero I need to be every day. Maybe if I start wearing a mask, the kids will start to recognize it a little more.
