Traditionally, parents are making the car-buying decisions for a family, but we figured for the first time, why not let kids have all the power in one of life’s most important purchases?  Seems completely logical, right? Well, here it is, the first ever, KIDS CHOICE – TOP 5 FAMILY CARS OF 2019. Before you proceed reading the rest, check this vauxhall mokka safety specialists tips to take advantage of the best offers available for your car.

If you are a car owner and travel with your family, having a backup plan is very important. For example, a  Towing service like Towing 247 can help you if you need road assistance and most importantly, they operate 24/7. A friendly reminder, make sure you have all the necessary tools before taking the road, also, it is good to know what head gasket sealer is the best? As most of the time, leaks from the head gasket are the most enemy of travelers on long trips.

My kids recently had a half day at school on a random Friday, which seemed like the perfect time for them research, and make the most important financial decision of their lives.

Instead of giving them full freedom to browse the internet, I figured it was best to begin with Kelley Blue Book’s trusted list of Best Family Cars of 2019.  To start, I let both my 9-year-old daughter and my 7-year-old son pick two cars based on whatever qualifications they came up with on the spot.  Then we would choose a final “family choice.” Here’s where we landed on the most important list of our lives:

2019 Honda CR-V

My daughter, Babs, chose this car mostly for color of the car in the photo (blue), and followed up by saying it has “really cool wheels.”  When I pressed her on a tiny bit more information she said, “it’s parked in front of a building, so they have a job.”

My daughter would be happy to hear that Kelley Blue Book gives the following review:  Honda’s well-rounded CR-V is safe, reliable, and practical — it’s the complete package.

2019 Subaru Forester

Babs continued to be very swayed by the color in the photos, and she chose the Forester immediately because it was gold, and also it earned bonus points because “it was driving near the ocean.”  Then she started imagining the entire family traveling as she said, “I like the racks on the top, we can put so much stuff up there!”

Kelley Blue Book adds the following about the 2019 Forester: All-new for 2019, the Forester is a comfortable, nicely equipped way to explore the outdoors — or get to your neighborhood coffee house.

2019 Chevrolet Traverse

My seven-year-old son got in the action by choosing this sweet Chevy.  His main reason? “When you get this car, you get to live at a castle.” Yes son, that lighthouse pictured is a castle, and you get a lighthouse whenever you buy a Chevy.  I think?

Additionally, Tommy loved “the rusty wheels that can drive in sand because there is a lot of sand on the way to the castle.”

Kelley Blue Book added a bit more info to help our car shoppers: Roomy, versatile and comfortable, the Chevrolet Traverse is the modern-day version of the family station wagon.

2019 Honda Odyssey

My son’s second pick was this sweet minivan which I was lucky enough to test drive a few years back.  His reasoning, “you get to drive it to the countryside, and it has a BIG BACK…plenty of seats for the family!”

Aww, look at that.  He wants us to travel with him.  Don’t ever change, son!

Kelley Blue Book says the following about the Odyssey: Still the benchmark among minivans, we called the honda Odyssey the best family car in the world and named it our Minivan Best Buy of 2019.

2019 Subaru Ascent

We had one pick left on our top-five list, so both Babs and Tommy browsed through all of the cars again, and then added a second Subaru to the big list!

My son’s main reasoning was because “it has rusty wheels, and big back, and can drive to the Great Wall of China!”

My daughter added, “it has a big back, big lights, and good racks on the top.”

So yeah, I guess our family is driving this sweet car to China!

Kelley Blue Book adds the following about the Ascent: Subaru’s foray into the 3-row midsize SUV segment offers the practicality, space and features a family wants, while retaining Subaru character and spirit.

Our family hopes that this top 5 list has helped you!  What I’ve learned is my kids can start the convo about a new car, but for real expertise, I’m turning to Kelley Blue Book.

A great place to start is on Kelley Blue Book’s Car Finder, or on their Best Cars and Top 10 Lists.

Once I was browsing the site a bit, I started to think, how much could I get for our current car?  Our family has been thinking about getting a larger car, and KBB.com had all of the answers for me.

I checked out Kelley Blue Book’s Instant Cash Offer. Simply enter info on your current vehicle to find out what your car is worth and find a participating dealer in your area to redeem your trade-in offer. t. Within seconds, I had received my Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash offer.

A few minutes later, a local dealer had called me talking me through how they could help me sell my car. What? This process was so much simpler than I could have imagined.

I now know that when I’m ready to buy or sell, Kelley Blue Book has my back!  And my kids will help out too…
