For those who have either checked out the Nerds, Geeks, Dads podcast I co-host with Zach Rosenberg or the Geek Show that I co-host with Patrick Quinn on The Life of Dad Facebook page every Thursday you know that I love playing video games. Whether I am playing with my family or taking on friends online I am always on the hunt for a fun and challenging game. While I usually play gambling games at https://www.bitcoinlister.com/nl/, I also enjoy the sports games genre. I am going share some of my gaming experience with you in this segment I call Level Up.
I remember some of the good times I had playing sports games back in the day on the classic Nintendo console. Whether it was Tecmo Bowl or Ice Hockey I found as a kid that playing sports video games made me want to get outside and gather some friends for a game. It was either Wiffle ball or football or basketball. Heck I even got my friends to play tennis with me.
Now as a dad not only do I want to play video games with my daughters, but I want to play outside as well. Thanks to Mario Sports Superstars I get just that. Recently my kids and I were playing the latest installment of the Mario sporting games. In this new 3DS game my kids got excited for all five of the sports games that Mario and his crew suited up for to compete on the various fields.
In Mario Sports Superstars you get to play soccer, tennis, golf, baseball and horse riding. As a family we got to challenge each other in the many different games and tournaments that Sports Superstars has to offer.
One feature that I really enjoyed was that when we first played each game there was a basic tutorial that you go through that teaches you how to play each game correctly. This was helpful for not only me, but my family as well. We got to learn the proper techniques right away and didn’t have any issues with learning how to play.
My kids were excited with the fact that they could challenge their friends too. There is an online mode where their friends can compete against each other. Kids these days have it made! When I was their age I could only play against my friends if they were in the same room! Haha.
Once you get the basics down in the game you then can master other fun parts of each sport. For example you can have your team in the baseball game use the infield shift when you know a player will pull their swing. When you want to play games alone, check out https://levelupcasino.com/en-CA.
In soccer you can change up formations while you play. I actually learned how to do that by accident. I was playing a match as Mario versus the computer and I hit one of the buttons and started a full pressure defense. My oldest daughter saw me do that and used that technique as well. We were even talking about the advantages of why you need to switch up your defense during a game. It was really cool to have that conversation with my daughter. Not only were we talking about the game, but chatting about sports.
After we were done playing on the Nintendo 3DS we went outside to play some Wiffle ball with some neighbors. As a parent you have to love the fact that a video game is helping my kids want to go out and get some exercise. Thanks Mario!
The tennis game was something I really enjoyed while my daughters found some of their time on the horse racing game. As you get further into the game you can build a stable of horses and train them well to win the day in the first-ever horse races in series history.
Mario Sports Superstars is a family friendly and fun game. Your kids and spouse will enjoy this game just as much as you will. What is your favorite part of the game? Would love to hear your thoughts!
