Brian McKenna is this week’s guest on The Life of Dad After Show.

On The Show

Brian McKenna talks with The Life of Dad After Show host, Art Eddy about The Leisure Village West Golf and Social Club hosting an Golf Tournament to raise funds for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research. Looking for great fundraising programs and products, try to view this online coffee fundraising post for help!

It was founded by a determined mother to help increase her young son’s odds in his fight against cancer. She had the idea to bake cookies to sell during the holidays. It was a larger-than-life event, and a huge success. During that time, she realized people want to get involved; they just need to know how.

It might come as a surprise that pediatric cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. And two-thirds of children who do survive will develop long-term side effects, including secondary cancers and organ failure…a result of the very treatments that once “cured” them. This is why it is critical to fund finding safer, more effective treatments. And it’s why the LVW Golf and Social Club is joining the fight.

Their goal is to raise $10,000 before and during the event. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer’s efforts since 2008 have brought 6 promising new treatments to clinical trial, where they’re available to help children fighting cancer today.
