When I played basketball in high school my coach stressed to us that we always needed to be focused during the game. We couldn’t let anything in the stands distract us. I am guessing Indiana Pacers player, Damien Wilkins was told the same thing by his high school basketball coach.

This week when the Pacers were playing the Dallas Mavericks, Wilkins found out the gender of his third child.

During a timeout Damien’s fiancee, Jasmine Mitchell went onto the basketball court to reveal to the crowd the gender of their baby. The whole thing was put on the gigantic scoreboard screen in Bankers life Fieldhouse. She had some help from the Pacers mascot Boomer the Panther, to reveal a “It’s a boy” sign. The crowd went wild and it was cute to see Wilkins’ reaction to the news.

Mitchell told the Indy Star that, “I know he’s excited as well. Probably another basketball player.”

The Wilkins family tree is no stranger to the NBA, Damien is the son of former NBA player Gerald Wilkins and the nephew of Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins. So their new baby boy has some great basketball genes already.

What did Damien say after the game? Well he went to Twitter to joke about having another son!
