We haven’t covered a whole ton of Danish indie musicians in Playlist Elevated. Should Asger Techau’s music prove to be typical of what can be made there, then I’ll be on my way to Danlandia soon (I’m assuming that’s the country you’re from when you’re Danish). Still wondering why the pastry and national food of Danlandia is also the name of its peoples. Be that as it may, Asger Techau’s music is filled with memorable hooks, accessible melodies and could be described as a mix of Sufjan Stevens and Jens Lekman. Together with his band Kashmir, his output has been solid for the past number of years, but his solo work stands out and should be added to your playlists.
