Beth Ditto

I’m having trouble trying to describe Beth Ditto’s music. So many of her songs are very dance and electronica when other songs sound like Florence Welch, as produced by Dan Auerbach over Jack White’s fuzz guitar. Happy mediums between the two styles abound as do soulful ballads and straight rock hammering. You’re going to find that the single most reliable thing in it all is the strength and depth of her voice. Back when she performed with her band the Gossip (also worth checking out) she transformed from punk to disco/ pop which led to all sorts of awesomeness from song to song. Check her out.
