Throwing Muses

Speaking to a friend recently, they mentioned a band I hadn’t listened to in a long long time and had regrettably forgotten about. With a lot of bands keeping the memory of what they were to me at one time, is usually way better than revisiting them later. You know that disappointment you get when you go back to something and it’s nowhere near as good as you had remembered? Is anything worse than having a fond memory tarnished (I’m looking at you Delta Force and Monster Squad)? Better to just let things stay the way you remember them in many cases. Then every so often, the memory is as good or better than you had anticipated. Anything that might have caused disappointment later just wasn’t good to begin with I guess. Almost everything Throwing Muses made from the early 80’s through their high-points in the mid 90’s stands the test of time, and then some. If you don’t know them from back in the day, it’s time to discover them; or if you’re like me and forgot how good they are go back and revisit.
