INTRODUCING YOU TO BANDS YOU MIGHT  NOT KNOW, BUT TOTALLY SHOULD.

Seratones

You need to be a pretty fantastic band to have me even consider traveling across the country to see a festival performance; especially given how MEH I feel about festivals in general. Still, I actually considered looking into hitting Newport Folk Fest, just to check Seratones out. Find a band that can do that and you know they must possess something unique in their output. These four Louisianians certainly do create music that is hard to classify. Because of the different musical stylings and backgrounds of each member (who all met at a punk-rock show), the music contains elements of everything that is good in rock. You get heavy blues sounds layered on music that is sometimes punk, occasionally surf-rock and jazz swing that would be hard to manage. Still, in track after track the band pumps out excellence in song after song. Love or hate blues, it’s hard not to be drawn in by this fantastic mashup of genres. Me?….. I dig it all and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite new bands.
