INTRODUCING YOU TO BANDS YOU MIGHT  NOT KNOW, BUT TOTALLY SHOULD.

The Courtneys

Wouldn’t it be great if coping with loss, longing and unrequited love was as upbeat and exciting an experience as The Courtneys make it with their music. It isn’t that the lyrics don’t hit you like a punch to the guts when you actually hear them, but they are laid over awesome fuzz guitar and steady up-tempo beats. Be it songs about keeping someone precious but gone in their thoughts (Silver Velvet) or straight up telling a love that it’s hard to lose them even when you know they had to go (Minnesota), the music casts a divergent feel to the gravity of the words. Rad tune after rad tune pack their sophomore album, which is a fantastic follow up to their great debut a few years back. If you dig bands like Bleached or Peach Kelli Pop, you’ll certainly dig these three Canadians. We all love Canadians, don’t we? Were there ever any Canadians we don’t like? Talking about Nickelback doesn’t count as I’m sure the guys are individually delightful. Again, here I am ending on some unrelated tangent because, why not?
